Mittums booties have a long rib that folds over the bootie for extra warmth. You can knit the booties in one color or use two colors. The pattern is written to be knitted in loops, but you can also knit with double pointed needles, in which case divide the stitches on needle A into needles 1 and 2 and the stitches on needle B into needles 3 and 4. The booties have a curved thumb rise. The pattern uses an Italian cast-on, but you can create the stitches any way you like. The pattern includes two different types of rib.
