Instructions for Jenna K's Mielikki sweater in Finnish and in print.
"In Finnish mythology, several gods and elf beings are named that have an effect on the forest and hunting, which are believed to be able to influence a hunter's hunting or protect a wanderer in the forest. Tapio and his wife Mielikki, tapiotar, are named as the rulers of the forest, or Tapiola, and the people of the forest. Mielik was spoken to beautifully and sung, so that he would give a harvest - to people, Mielikki could appear as an old man dressed in Tapio's gray fur coat."
Mielikki is a sweater knitted in two colors. The pattern does not have long runs of thread, so it is suitable even for a beginning embroiderer. The blouse is knitted closed, i.e. in the round, from the bottom of the hem upwards. The curve has a two-color embroidery pattern. It pays to choose shades that have enough contrast with each other.
