Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair is a luxurious blend of soft kid mohair and mulberry silk. The mohair comes from angora goats raised in South Africa, and the yarn is produced locally. It is traceable to farms, which means that KFO knows exactly which farm, farmers and goats the wool comes from. Mohair is certified sustainably, RMS (Responsible Mohair Standard). The yarn is produced with respect for animal welfare and in a socially responsible manner. I spin according to ethical, technical and environmental standards and create yarns that do not contain harmful chemicals.
The silk of the soft silk mohair, on the other hand, is C ruelty free . The silk fibers are collected from the cocoons after the larvae have developed into butterflies and escape from the cocoon. This means that silkworms are not killed in the process, as they are in conventional silk production.
Olive Soft Silk Mohair yarn can be used together with other yarns such as Knitting for Olive Merino or Heavy merino .
