Vuonue Sampo – Sustainable and ecological Finnish sock yarn

Sampo is a versatile sock yarn made in Finland that combines traditional Finnish wool with modern durability. The biodegradable polyamide used in the yarn strengthens the knitwear while maintaining its environmental friendliness – it decomposes in the right conditions in up to five years without compromising durability. In addition, the yarn's tighter than normal twist improves wear resistance and makes the knitted surface beautifully smooth.

In addition to wool socks, Sampo is also excellent for sweaters, mittens, scarves and beanies. We recommend using tight knit socks and a reinforced heel to ensure the socks last as long as possible.

One skein is enough for short-sleeved socks of about size 39. For long-sleeved or larger sizes, it is worth reserving two skeins. The yarn can be used to knit all patterns designed for fingering-weight yarns (knitting density 22–26 sts / 10 cm).

You can also combine the shampoo with WoolWomen's hand-dyed, Finnish Huiku .
